Fratricide at OP4 -- 29 January 1991
"The Ugly Side of Warfare"

These pictures show what was left of the LAV-AT and the LAV-25 that we lost on 29 January 1991 during two fratricide incidents while battling Iraqi forces at OP4.  There is a book in the works by a former Marine who has done a ton of research into the battle of  OP4 the night of 29 January 1991.  These pictures are hard to look at especially for those of us who were there and lost some of our brothers that fateful night, however, they serve as a reminder of the cost of freedom and the ugliness of war, especially Fracticide/ Friendly Fire/ Blue on Blue incidents.

From the Author

"The book is on the way. Unfortunately, writing and editing books takes
a long time. I'm finishing up my end of things but it will take Simon &
Schuster probably 6 months to finish up their work. The book tentatively
titled "Leave No Man Behind" won't hit the shelves until Dec at the
earliest."
