The Trip home....

Look out USA Here we come......
This was our lucky day...all the Brass must have gotten home because we were told to saddle up and move out to the flight line...Our C-5 Galaxy was in...As I took one last look around at the Middle East, turned to my driver and said lets get the hell outta here, and drove up into the belly of the C-5. Upon landing at Norton AFB, CA, we choked back tears as we saw snow capped mountains and the clear blue sky of California. Once unloaded and on the runway, the Air Force bubbas must have thought us nuts to kiss U.S. soil, happy to be home alive. It was April 15, seven long months.....
Up into the C-5 we go....
Driving towards our 'bird' home.....
Into the Bowels.....
Almost there....

On the ground at Norton AFB, CA
Ahh the good 'ole U.S.A..
This is a picture of our freedom bird from the front. We are at Norton AFB, CA. We have off loaded our LAV-AT's and are just taking in the sights and planning our drive home to Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, CA.
Home at Camp Pendleton, CA
Home at Last...
This is the banner flying over the road as we entered the East Gate of Camp Pendleton. It reads, "Welcome Home Liberators of Kuwait City". That is another LAV-AT in front of me...
